Synopsis
Simon Myciunka is CEO of Bauer Media Audio UK, a position he has held since July 2023.
Bauer Media Audio is Europe’s leading digital commercial radio broadcaster and audio operator. In the UK, it reaches over 23 million listeners a week and operates a number of much-loved local, national and digital stations, including Absolute Radio, Greatest Hits Radio, Magic Radio, KISS, and Hits Radio.

Passionate about audio, Simon spearheads a strategy that looks to build on Bauer’s already world leading digital commercial radio proposition, whilst strengthening its position in live broadcast radio and exploiting the myriad opportunities afforded to the business in a fast-moving audio landscape.
Simon’s Career
His audio career began in the Northeast with Global Radio where he helped to launch the Capital and Heart radio brands before a move to entertainment company Celador where he was Regional Managing Director responsible for the business operations of the group’s radio stations.
Moving to Communicorp Media – Ireland’s largest commercial radio business - in 2017, Simon was promoted to CEO in October 2020. As Communicorp’s Chief Executive Simon oversaw all of Communicorp Media’s interests, including national stations Today FM and Newstalk, local music stations and the group’s digital platforms, AudioXi, GoLoud and many on-demand content propositions.
Communicorp became part of Bauer Media Audio in 2021 and, inspired by the creativity, talent and passion of those in the UK business, Simon couldn’t turn down the opportunity to become CEO of Bauer Media Audio UK in 2023.
Simon is highly respected within the radio and wider media industry for his many professional achievements and is also a Founding Board Member of RadioCentre Ireland.

Business Philosophy
Simon passionately believes that collaboration is at the centre of any successful business and that audio’s heart is in its human connection, that ability to create that distinctly intimate relationship with listeners. A combination of incredible talent, producers and creatives, brilliant reporters, guests and live performances allows for a deep, long-lasting connection on a mass scale and it is that ability to build community and trust which is audio’s superpower.
Simon believes digital audio and voice tech are vitally important areas for the sector and that continued innovation will provide an opportunity for ever greater listener interaction and new advertising possibilities. Innovation in these areas will allow for audiences and advertisers alike to connect even more with stations, presenters and brands.
