Should all brands give a voice to taboo topics?

MoneySuperMarket is “on a mission to save Britain money”. In February, in partnership with CALM and UM, MoneySuperMarket released Money Talks: a research study reviewing the mental health crisis emerging from the taboo of talking about money worries in the UK. It revealed some sobering figures, including that 86% of UK adults worry about money, but only a quarter have spoken to anyone about it. In this session, we’ll hear about the partnership, why they launched the study and some of its results, before thinking through the risks associated with communicating around issues that are considered taboo, and how brands can ensure they give a voice to difficult subjects.
Speakers: Simon Gunning, CEO, Campaign Against Living Miserably; Kara Osborne, CEO, UM; Helen Needham, Senior PR & Brand Communications Manager, MoneySupermarket Group; Maria Iu, Deputy Editor, The Media Leader

Celebrating 200 years of the RSPCA

In 2024 the RSPCA celebrates its 200th Anniversary. A milestone for any brand. However, animal welfare is in many ways in a worse place than it was when the founders of RSPCA met in a coffee house 2 centuries ago. Hear from Olivia Reid on how she’s managed the monumental task of revitalising the RSPCA in the eyes of the British public but also bring the public’s role in animal welfare to the fore.
Speakers: Caroline Ayling, Marketing Director @ JAA, President Bloom Network; Olivia Reid, Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications, RSPCA
