The AI era has changed how selection happens. Buyers shortlist through models that synthesise every source they can find, and sameness in that context is no longer indistinct. It is invisible. Nowhere is that more visible than in the media industry itself, where two decades of consolidation have produced structural sameness at the top, and a convergence around a single word — outcomes — has produced semantic sameness across the language of value.
While the biggest names have been busy erasing their difference, a group of independent agencies have been winning ground by doing the opposite. This presentation argues that positioning is now a business strategy capability, not a marketing tactic.
