We consider the UX innovations that increase engagement with live sport, before turning our attention to the evolution of sports TV distribution. How do we grow audiences further, and monetise live sports even more effectively, across Pay TV and free-to-air broadcasting? What impact are global sports streamers, SVOD platforms and video sharing services having on the sports TV market? This event explores the opportunities to expand live coverage across lower leagues and start-up tournaments, and the role of shoulder content in expanding fan bases. We explore how sports federations, leagues and clubs build a winning owned-and-operated direct-to-consumer (D2C) business, and the distribution partnership options now available to them. We want to know whether the Ligue de Football Professionnel’s Ligue 1+ D2C service is an outlier or a pointer towards the future of domestic football distribution.
