We discuss the next steps in broadcaster streaming, including strategies to widen audiences and increase viewing time. How much interest is there in placing linear channels (and VOD) within global SVOD services? What are the circumstances where such distribution deals make sense? We want to know how broadcasters grow their BVOD services, and the value of hosting third-party content brands (like broadcasters or global studios) within them. We consider the role of broadcaster FAST and ask whether video sharing platforms and social media should be used to engage viewers in-situ with long-form content or treated as promotional sites. Are in-car entertainment systems the next big opportunity to create incremental ‘media time’? What is the future of linear, and programme guides, in an increasingly digital world?
