Speaker Bio
Fredrik af Malmborg is a media entrepreneur and industry innovator focused on reshaping how global content travels across languages, platforms, and audiences. Over the past two decades, he has built and scaled multiple companies at the intersection of storytelling, technology, and international distribution.
He is the founder of Eccho Rights, which grew into one of the world’s leading independent distributors and digital operators in scripted television. Under his leadership, the company pioneered new investment and monetisation models around Turkish and international drama, combining traditional distribution with early direct-to-consumer and YouTube strategies. Eccho Rights licensed over 20.000 hours of drama annually and became a key player in the global expansion of non-English-language content before being acquired by Korea’s CJ ENM and later by European investors. Fredrik exited the business in 2024.
Today, Fredrik is building a new generation of media ventures focused on AI-driven dubbing, scalable localisation, and digital audience growth. His work centres on redefining how content is produced and adapted for a multilingual, platform-first world — blending technology with creative workflows to unlock new global markets.
He holds a degree from Lund School of Economics and is also a relatively active voice in the political social media space.
