Shannon Lewis is a transformative leader shaping the future of media, leadership, and trusted partnerships. Recognized on Campaign’s Power List 2025, she is President of the Canadian Media Directors’ Council (CMDC), representing over $13 billion in media investment and leading one of Canada’s most influential industry bodies.
She is the architect behind the Canadian Media Manifesto, a national movement that has helped drive more than $380 million annually since 2021 back into journalism and local media, redefining how an industry can act collectively for impact.
With over two decades of global experience across brands including BBC, Microsoft, Unilever, and Diageo, Shannon works at the intersection of creativity, commerce, policy, and technology. Her work challenges leaders to rethink the role of media not simply as a
channel, but as a force shaping culture, trust, democracy, and economic growth.
She serves on the advisory board for Canada Cannes Lions with The Globe and Mail and is a recognized speaker and media industry leader, regularly invited to high-level conversations on journalism, democracy, future of media and women in leadership. A lifelong learner, Shannon holds accreditations from Harvard University in Sustainable Leadership and Board Effectiveness.
