In April at the Media Leader Awards, four inductees from The Future 100 – as voted for by their fellow F100 classmates – each delivered a three-minute manifesto to our room full of media leaders which highlighted the most important issues they would like industry leaders to address over the next 12 months. It was Chris Dunne’s powerful plea for those in attendance to actively demonstrate to their people that they cared about their mental well-being, and that they take it seriously both as an organisation and as a human being, with one simple commitment: that 10% of their workforce is trained as Mental Health First Aiders within the next 12 months – and a further commitment that that number is doubled to 20% of the senior leadership team. In this session, Chris sits down with two industry heavyweights in Sue Todd and Paul Rowlinson to discuss the impact such a commitment would make to the people in our industry, and the actions every one of us can take within our businesses to create positive change.
